Wellness device clinically tested in a cohort of people with Parkinson's

img

A small clinical trial tested the SYMBYX Neuro as an adjunct to standard care for 40 individuals with idiopathic Parkinson's disease over the course of 12 weeks (1).

Results showed that ~70% of participants who received active treatment saw moderate-large clinical improvements in all 5 MDS-UPDRS-III subscores:

  • • Facial Expression

  • • Upper Limb Movement

  • • Gait

  • • Tremor

55% of participants who received a sham device (no active treatment) were considered responders, however only registered improvements in one of the five subscores - lower limb movement. Researchers concluded that "transcranial light therapy can meaningfully improve individual motor signs of Parkinson's if used as an adjunct therapy". Further research is currently underway.

Data presented are preliminary results from a clinical trial of the SYMBYX Neuro. For more information about the study, including details about the methodology and limitations, please  click here. FAQs

We can answer all your queries regarding SYMBYX red and infrared light therapy

Whilst there are a few devices on the market, here are some of the advantages of our SYMBYX Neuro:

  • • Our SYMBYX Neuro helmet is both designed and developed in Australia.

  • • SYMBYX Neuro has been used in clinical trials.

  • • We provide free and ongoing clinical support to help you get the most out of your device.

  • • SYMBYX Neuro intentionally focuses on the posterior of the brain—back of the head and neck—which are rich in neural input.

  • • The helmet itself is lightweight, adjustable, and rechargeable, meaning it can be used anywhere.

Light therapy is recognised for its high safety profile. With more than 6000 studies conducted on medical laser light therapy, no serious adverse events have been reported. This contributes to its reputation as a promising therapy, evidenced by the publication of over 40 new studies each month. We encourage all our customers to review our safety and contraindications page on our website before purchasing. All SYMBYX devices have undergone rigorous safety testing and have been certified by an independent third-party laboratory to meet international safety standards. SYMBYX devices comply with varying regulations, permits, and clearances specific to each country.

We do not recommend the SYMBYX Neuro helmet for customers with DBS unless they have received medical approval. This is only a precaution due to insufficient clinical data supporting the application of light therapy over an implanted DBS device. At SYMBYX, we prefer to err on the side of caution. We have many customers with DBS using one of our handheld lasers and experiencing positive results. *SYMBYX content is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice.

Always follow the directions of use.
